For me the [spiritual healing] gathering was an opportunity to broaden my horizons, to realize how spiritually connected we all are to each other, even if we are unaware. With awareness comes the possibility of being spiritually awake and open. In the beginning of the gathering the African drummers played and I felt too self-conscious and worried about what other people thought of me to dance. Remarkably, after 2 hours of meditating and watching different spiritual healing practices I felt so free and wanted to dance, to smile, and to connect with the other people in the room. I realized in that moment that so many times in life we all hold back because of our fear of other people’s judgments. How good it felt to let go, to laugh, and dance with people of all ages and backgrounds.
