Michelle Aslanyan, BA, International Fellow at the United Nations
Michelle received Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, CA in Global Studies. Currently, she is a Master’s student in Global Thought at Columbia University, NYC. She has worked with unaccompanied minors from the Northern Triangle in assisting them with acclimating to American culture and English language and achieving social academic goals. In New York City, she works with underserved students in Harlem to provide comprehensive support to encourage student engagement and academic achievement. Michelle finds trends and commonalities among students’ responses and accordingly coordinates further assistance in Global History.
Michelle worked on a cross-disciplinary study, called The UCLA High School Diversity Project, which studied the effects of ethnic diversity in public schools in California. She worked as a Research Assistant for six months and was later chosen to be one of the Project Managers. She worked directly with high schools to coordinate data collection and managed the data after the acquisition. Meaningfulworld welcomes Michelle as our International Fellow at the United Nations.
